Can I Plunge Route Grooves into a 3/8″ Board Safely?

Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to woodworking and would love your advice. I just edge-glued some 3/8" boards together to create an 8x10 board. I'm wondering if I can plunge route grooves into this thickness, say about 1/8" deep. Does that sound safe or a bit sketchy? I'm just dealing with some newbie anxiety here! Thanks a bunch!

Absolutely! You can route glued boards like they're one solid piece. The glue should cut just like the wood itself. Just make sure to take it slow and steady!

But is 3/8" too thin to plunge into?

Honestly, it sounds a bit sketchy to me. Just double-check your setup and maybe try a test piece first.
