Hey everyone! I just finished digging a pad site that's 5 feet wide, 16 feet long, and 25 feet deep. While digging, I discovered a sewage pipe that's about an inch below the surface of the dirt, meaning it sits roughly 6 inches down at its shallowest point. This pipe is running through a channel of pea gravel, which I assume is there to allow for expansion and contraction during freezing conditions. I live in the Pacific Northwest, where we get frost maybe twice a year. Is it safe for me to pour concrete over this pipe? Thanks for any advice!

I actually don't think that's a sewage pipe; it might be a French drain since those are designed to help water flow away from your house. But if you're certain it's sewage, I would recommend making sure you have a solid plan for access just in case you need to get to it later.
It sounds like a good idea to add control joints on either side of the pipe if you decide to pour over it. That way, you'll have a clear indication of where it is if you ever need to access it. Plus, knowing the location makes it easier to cut through the concrete if repairs are necessary later on.
