Hey everyone! I recently bought the DEWALT DCM571N-XJ Trimmer and I'm running into a problem. I have a 15Ah battery, but it doesn't fit because the battery cage is in the way. I'm wondering if removing the battery cage would have any negative effects or if it could potentially void my warranty. I do have a 6Ah battery that fits, but it can be a hassle not having a secure fit for my 15Ah. Any advice? Thanks!

Weird coincidence, but someone else asked about the battery cage not too long ago. Might be a good idea to check that out for more insights. It’s common, though, to find certain batteries not fitting due to the cage design. Just be careful if you decide to modify anything!
I had the same issue, but I used two 6Ah batteries and had no problems at all. Also, if you find a 9Ah battery on sale, grab it during the November/December deals; they tend to last longer in tools like lights. I wouldn't rush to remove that cage unless you're really set on using the 15Ah all the time. Just my two cents!
Thanks for the tip! I guess I'll wait for stock to come in and avoid messing with the battery cage for now.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It's a little sketchy that multiple new accounts are asking similar stuff, but it’s good to share info!
