I'm looking to swap out a round ceiling fixture in my hallway that's got built-in LEDs, but unfortunately, the LEDs have failed and can't be repaired. I'd like to replace it with a standard bulb fixture. While I'm not an electrician, I do know how to shut off the breaker and connect wires. Is this an easy DIY project, or should I expect to run into problems like crossing wires?

It's super straightforward! Just make sure you have a multimeter or voltage tester handy to ensure there’s no live wire in the box before you start working.
You can definitely do it! Just keep in mind you might need to drill new holes for the mounting bracket, especially if you're swapping fixtures. Having someone help you hold the new fixture while you connect the wires and secure it can also make it a lot easier!
It's generally pretty easy to do, but be aware there can be some complications. For instance, your light might be connected to a low voltage system, or it could be part of a 3-way circuit where more than one switch controls it. Also, if your house has old wiring, it might be brittle and could get damaged when you touch it. Just make sure to check those things first!
