I have an old Lenovo laptop that I've been using with an HDMI connection to an old TV. It's connected to my keyboard and mouse via a Bluetooth USB dongle. The battery is dead, so I'm currently using it plugged in. I'm looking to tidy up my space since the laptop is pretty beaten up, and I'm thinking about transferring its components into a new, slim plastic or metal box with ventilation. Is this project feasible?

Anything's possible! If you're just making a box for it, go for it! But if you want it to look really nice and stay organized, maybe think about 3D printing a frame to hold everything properly within that new setup.
You could try to put something together, but honestly, it might look worse than just leaving it in its original casing. Many laptop parts are tailored for that specific model, and some might be interchangeable, but I think it would be better to clean it up instead and hide it behind your monitor or store it on a shelf under your desk.
Just a heads up, the CPU is already a part of your laptop, so you can't really turn it into a standalone CPU. If you're looking to tidy it up, maybe consider just disconnecting the screen and hiding the rest nicely behind or under the monitor. That could keep it neat without a huge overhaul.

Totally agree! Keeping it in its original shell usually works best.
