Hey, I have a quick question! I purchased a two-pack of 5Ah batteries from Lowe's last month, and I got the DCF860 and DCF911 impact wrenches for free. I assumed the DCF911 was the XR version when I ordered, but it turns out it isn't. I'm interested in upgrading to the DCR891 model. If I return the DCF911, can I get the full value back and then use that to buy the DCR891? Or should I just stick with what I have? I mainly use these for light automotive maintenance on my own vehicles and my lawn mower. Oh, and as a side note, I saw the DCR891 is priced at $249 and comes with a free 8Ah battery. Would it work that I get around $200 for the DCF911 and just pay an extra $50 for the upgrade? Any insights would be super helpful!

Check your receipt for the details. Sometimes they have specific policies about returning promotional items, especially if they were labeled as 'free'. It’s really important to know how they handle returns, as it can vary from store to store.
If you bought it in-store, your return may be prorated based on the original receipt. Online sales often work differently, so make sure to clarify that at the return desk. Just keep in mind that you usually won't get the full value back for promotion items like the DCF911.
Honestly, the DCF911 should be more than enough for light work. If you don’t absolutely need the XR model, you might just want to keep it and save some cash. You could always sell it if you really want to upgrade later!
Good point! The DCF911 can handle most automotive tasks without issue. Plus, selling it could get you some decent cash!
Thanks everyone for the input! I looked up the return policy and it appears that it will be prorated as mentioned. Appreciate all the assistance!

Yeah, definitely look at the receipt! You want to make sure you're fully informed before deciding.
