Can I Salvage My Hardwood After a Shop Fire?

Asked By CraftyBear999 On

I had a fire in my workshop last weekend and I'm gearing up for the cleanup. Most of my hardwoods were stacked away from the main fire, but they've got soot, smoke residue, and got soaked down by fire hoses. I'm worried that the water and smoke chemicals have ruined them. Should I try to air them out, or is it better to just claim them as destroyed along with my equipment?
