Hey everyone! I ordered a large quantity of topsoil and compost for my raised garden beds, and I've been trying to grow some healthy seedlings alongside direct-sown peas and radishes. Unfortunately, everything seems to be turning yellow and not growing properly. I'm starting to worry that I might have received a bad batch of soil. Is there anything I can do to improve the soil, or should I just start fresh? I'd really appreciate any advice you all have! Thanks!

It sounds like you might be dealing with some soil issues! Before making any drastic changes, I’d recommend checking the soil's pH and nutrient levels using a soil test kit. They’re pretty affordable and can give you insight into what’s going wrong. Also, make sure to reach out to your soil supplier and ask for a soil analysis—if they're reputable, they should help you out and maybe even replace it if there's an issue! Good luck!
Sounds like an unfortunate situation with your soil! If you have photos, it might be helpful to see exactly what's going on with your plants. Sometimes yellowing can indicate nutrient issues or even too much water. Just hang in there, every gardener goes through this at some point!
Thanks for the encouragement! I’ll definitely share some photos soon.
Your plants might be suffering from bad compost mixed with sand, which can hinder their growth. Make sure you're looking closely at the details of the soil texture. If the compost is not fully finished, it could lead to nutrient deficiencies. Try to add some organic matter or compost tea to help them bounce back if you're not ready to replace the soil yet!

I completely agree! Knowing those numbers can really help you find the right amendments!
