I'm trying to create a 3'x3' bowl shape out of a square piece of plywood, but I'm looking to shape it in all directions—not just bending it in one way. I have access to a press and can apply unlimited force and size, so I'm up for any techniques that can help me get the best results without cutting out any wood. I'm considering soaking, steaming, or other methods. I can work with 1/4" plywood, but I'm curious if using a thicker sheet would yield better results. Would taking my time over several days make a difference? I'd love any tips or insights that could help as I prepare for this project, and I'll share the results afterward! Thanks!

Shaping plywood into a bowl isn't really possible with a preformed sheet due to its properties. You can create something similar by layering veneer in a mold. Plywood doesn’t really bend in all directions. If you use traditional methods like steam bending, it might just delaminate on you.
