I've been dealing with a fungus gnat issue and used a 4-1 diluted hydrogen peroxide solution on one of my affected plants. Now I'm wondering if I can safely spray this solution on the soil of my other houseplants to prevent any spread of the pests. Is it safe to use on all of them?

Be careful with that! While hydrogen peroxide can kill fungus gnat eggs and larvae, it can also harm the roots of your plants. It’s better to use products like mosquito dunks or nematodes to tackle the problem without damaging your plants.
If you're looking for a safer route, I’d recommend replacing the soil and using a systemic pesticide specifically made for the soil. I learned the hard way after using diluted pesticides on my pothos—it didn’t go well. Yellow sticky traps can also catch adult gnats before they lay eggs.
Totally agree! Hydrogen peroxide can wipe out beneficial bacteria in the soil too. If you're in Europe and can't find mosquito bits, there's something called Culinex Tablets that can help with gnats as well. Just a tip for spring!
