Can I Still Save My Poppy Seeds After Pulling the Plant?

Hey everyone! I recently cleared out a ton of weeds from the front of my new house, and during the cleanup, I accidentally pulled up a volunteer poppy plant that had three or four green seed heads on it. Now I'm wondering if it's too late to save them. I didn't get to see the flower bloom, so I'm not sure about the color and whether it's worth it to try. Should I hang the plant upside down in my shed to dry the seed heads, or should I just toss it and get over the FOMO? Also, I plan on tackling the back garden tonight, which is a mess of bindweed. If I don't come back tomorrow, send help!

If it hasn’t been too long, the seeds might be okay. Just check if the seed heads are still connected and haven’t started breaking apart. If they’re still solid, there’s hope! But even if it’s iffy, you might as well try!

Yeah, it definitely hasn’t gone dry yet. I’ll try to hang it up tonight if I can get to the shed without too much hassle.

You really want the seeds to dry on the plant itself, but honestly, it doesn't hurt to give it a shot. Just hang it up in your shed and see what happens!

Thanks for the tip! Sounds like a good plan. I'm going to try and find the plant among all the weeds I bagged up.
