Can I Use a 1000W Toaster Oven with a 1200W Inverter Without Upgrading Wires?

I'm currently using an 800W inverter with about 6 feet of 4-gauge cables, but I'm having issues with a 700W toaster tripping the reset during startup. I'm thinking of upgrading to a 1200W inverter and using a 1000W toaster oven instead. Is it safe to do this with the existing 4-gauge wires, or should I consider upgrading to 2-gauge? I know there will be some power loss over the 6 feet, but since the toaster has a short heat ramp time, is that a concern?

Honestly, it is a bit strange that your inverter trips with a 700W toaster. It’s important to have well-maintained connections, too, as poor connections can lead to issues under load. Make sure your battery is fully charged and that everything is in good shape. If the inverter has a surge rating that’s much higher than its continuous rating, you should be fine with the toaster, as long as it's not drawing more than the inverter can handle during startup.
