Hey everyone! I was wondering if I can use a cable stapler (like the type used for ethernet cables that you hammer in) to secure my new doorbell wire while running it through the crawlspace under my house. I have some cable staples left over from a previous project, and buying a T25 staple gun just for this one job feels a bit excessive. My only concern is that the doorbell wire is thinner, so I'm worried it might not be tightly secured against the wood.

Loose cables work just as well! Even if the doorbell wire isn’t super tight, it’ll still carry the current just fine. Just make sure it’s not crimped or cutting through the insulation; otherwise, you’re good to go!
But just a heads up: if the wire is too loose, you might face some lag when you press the button. I’ve had that happen before—just when you think the doorbell’s broken, it suddenly dings!
Just to clarify, are you referring to cable staples and not an actual stapler? They are a bit different, just in case!
As long as you’re not cranking those staples down so hard that they cut through the wire’s insulation, you’ll be fine using cable staples. Just be gentle!

Yeah, it’s a 12v wire! You could even tie it in knots if you wanted—it wouldn’t make a difference.
