Can I Use a DCS590 Circular Saw for Cutting Stucco?

I'm looking to cut some stucco (not EIFS) to replace the windows in my house. Given the extensive length I need to chop and the precision required for depth, I'm thinking a circular saw is the way to go to avoid taking forever. I currently have a heavy plug-in circular saw, but I'm considering upgrading to the DCS590 for this project. However, I stumbled upon a part in the manual stating: "Do not cut metal, plastic, concrete, masonry or fiber cement materials with this saw." Since stucco isn't directly mentioned, I'm wondering if it's safe to use the saw for this purpose. Could this just be a precaution to avoid warranty issues resulting from dust? Should I consider returning this saw for a different one, ideally another DeWalt 20V model, or perhaps a different tool entirely?

I can relate! I have a similar saw (yellow version) and while you might not find 20V options, there are masonry blades that could work with yours. You might be fine if you grab the right blade!

I was eyeing the Diablo hardiblade because it’s available at Home Depot near me.

Just go for it, man! Get the right blade for the job and make sure to wear a mask. You'll be fine!

Glad to hear that! Just wanted to confirm I’m not off track here.

That's a good point. They probably included that disclaimer for a few reasons: a lot of dust is a concern, plus they want to sell specialized tools. My advice? Just gear up with some PPE like a dust mask and safety glasses, use an appropriate blade, and go for it!

Haha, yes! Gotta support the economy, right?
