Hey everyone! So, I've been investing a lot in Dewalt tools lately, but I've also got a Ryobi One+ Garden Sprayer. It came with a 1.5A battery, but that one has died on me. Instead of buying a new Ryobi battery, I went ahead and got a battery adapter. I wasn't too concerned about using it for the sprayer since I figured it wouldn't damage my Dewalt batteries. Now I'm considering getting an orbital polisher for my car and bike, but I can't justify the $380 (AUD) for the Dewalt model when the Ryobi is only $219. My main question is, do Dewalt batteries have a built-in BMS (Battery Management System), or is that handled by the tool? From what I've found, it seems like Ryobi batteries have the BMS, but I'm worried about potentially damaging my Dewalt batteries if I use them with the Ryobi polisher, especially given the tool's high power demand. Any advice? Thanks!

Adapters can work, but keep an eye on your battery. Just make sure to unplug it when you’re done using it to avoid any issues.
You might want to consider a corded polisher instead. I’ve seen some decent models that are much cheaper than what you’re looking at. Just an idea!
Haha, I wish I could! But I'm in Australia, and we don’t have Harbor Freight over here!
