Can I Use a Kitchen Vent for My Bathroom Installation?

I'm looking to install a bathroom vent on the second floor, and there's already a vent tube that runs from the kitchen up to the attic, venting out through the roof. Is it okay to tap into this existing vent for my bathroom?

You can technically mix them if you ensure proper airflow with good dampers to prevent backflow, but it's not recommended. Just avoid mixing vent types for best results.

It's a no-go on mixing kitchen and bathroom vents. They serve different purposes and combining them can lead to some major issues.

Definitely don’t mix them. If you really need to vent multiple bathrooms, consider using a more powerful inline fan in the attic instead of individual fans for each bathroom. It'll be quieter and more efficient.
