I'm in a bit of a pickle! We're buying a house, but there's no space for a built-in dishwasher. The only option we have is to go with a portable one, but I just learned that these can't easily hook up to pull-down faucets like mine. I'm not ready to swap out my faucet since I really love it. I have some space to store the dishwasher, but I'm trying to figure out if I could add a diverter to the hot water line under the sink so I could connect the dishwasher there instead. Would this setup work? Could I also use the sink and the dishwasher at the same time without losing water pressure? Any other solutions I might be missing?

You could certainly get a line added for the dishwasher, but have you considered using a portable dishwasher that doesn’t require a specific hookup? You can just fill it up using your pull-down faucet, which might save you some hassle. Check this model out for example: [Link](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08N6WV3HX?th=1)
That sounds like a solid option, but with multiple kids, I prefer to run a full-size dishwasher once in the evenings rather than a smaller one multiple times a day.
Absolutely, you can add an additional line! If your faucet is connected with a threaded valve, it should be a pretty simple task. If it's a soldered valve, that could complicate things a bit—might want to call a plumber for a hand. Look for a setup that has two outputs to make sure it works for both your sink and dishwasher.
Thanks for the insight! I figured a soldered valve might be a bit much for me to tackle myself.

Yeah, I went with a similar model, and it has been a game-changer after years of dealing with the complications of hooking up dishwashers!
