Can I Use a Second-Hand Solar Panel with a Solar Generator?

I'm new to solar power and I'm considering getting a solar generator like the EF ECOFLOW DELTA 3 because it combines the inverter, controller, and battery, making installation easy. However, I want to know if it's possible to use a second-hand solar panel with these generators. I'm particularly interested in using a foldable solar panel like the one from Harbor Freight, which would be more convenient than the larger panel that usually comes with the generator. Are these solar panels plug-and-play with the generator, or do I need to do anything specific?

Totally! You can use second-hand panels as long as their voltage and power specifications are compatible with the generator's inverter. Just check that they meet the requirements and you should be good to go!

Yeah, making sure you stay within voltage limits is crucial! The Harbor Freight panel you've mentioned runs at around 20V 10A, so you can wire two of those in series to connect to the generator. You’ll just need an MC4 to XT60I adapter for the connection.

Yes, compatibility is key! Always check the DC input specs. Many brands prefer to sell their own pricey panels for optimal performance. Like, with my Anker setup, I found that they work best with their specific panels, which are often overpriced. But you can get by with regular panels if you find the right specs.
