Hey everyone! I have a bunch of power tools and yard equipment that run on rechargeable batteries, but they each use different chargers that aren't compatible with one another. I like to work in a part of my yard that doesn't have any electrical outlets available, not even in the garage. I'm wondering if I can set up a solar panel outside my garage to charge multiple batteries. My idea is to run a cord from the solar panel inside to a charger that has multiple AC outlets, so I can plug in the standard chargers that came with my tools, like my drill, dremel, weed whacker, and electric pruner. Ideally, I'd like to avoid overcharging the batteries and don't need them charged quickly—overnight would be fine. Does anyone know if a device like this exists that won't break the bank? Thanks!

What brand of tools are you using? That might help in suggesting the right setup!
I actually have a setup similar to what you’re describing. I've got 400 watts of solar panels connected to a Victron charge controller. It charges two 12-volt deep cycle batteries, and I can either use the solar setup or switch to a wall outlet if solar isn't enough. I plug all my tool chargers into a DC to AC inverter when I need to charge their batteries. The setup cost me about $800 total. It might be a bit more than you need, but it works really well!
There are definitely options for this! You might want to check out the Anker SOLIX C800. It has standard wall plugs for your chargers and can be charged by either solar or a wall outlet. It's portable enough to move around and has enough power capacity to charge multiple batteries at once. These devices are often called power stations or solar generators, and they vary in size. Just make sure to pay attention to the wattage and watt-hour ratings so you pick one that suits your needs. If you know how many chargers you'll be running at the same time, that can help you narrow down your choices. Good luck!
This is a great suggestion! ?

Wow, that sounds like overkill for just tool charging! A simpler solar generator would probably do the trick.
