Hey everyone! I bought a house with Louisiana Pacific siding about a year ago. During the inspection, I noticed it had some wear and a contractor fixed a couple of bad spots. The inspector seemed pleased with its overall quality, but I'm not sure if I got lucky or what. The house looks well-maintained, but now I'm wondering if I can repaint it with acrylic paint. I've heard that oil-based paints are the way to go, but my contractor used acrylic last winter and it seemed to hold up well. I'm looking to freshen it up before fall! What do you guys think?

It's important to note though, don’t apply oil paint over acrylic! If you have acrylic already, stick with it for the best results. Also, oil-based paints generally last longer, but it really depends on what’s currently on your siding.
Absolutely, you can use acrylic paint on LP siding! Just make sure any existing paint is compatible. If your contractor had no issues with it last winter, you should be good to go! Freshening it up sounds like a great idea before the cooler weather hits.
Cool. Thank you!

Thanks for the tip!
