Can I Use an 8.0 Forge Battery with My Milwaukee Miter Saw Charger?

Hey everyone! I have a Milwaukee miter saw, the 2734 model, and I'm considering upgrading to an 8.0 Forge battery for more power. My concern is whether I can use the original quick charger that came with the saw, even though I've heard that these batteries function best with newer chargers. I'm on a tight budget and can't get a new charger right now, so I'm mainly wondering if the 8.0 battery will charge at all, even if it takes longer. Will there be any issues with charging it? Thanks in advance for your help!

The Forge 8 is a solid choice! While you're at it, consider the Forge 12 for even more power. Just keep in mind that charging with the older charger won't harm it, but the cooling system of the newer chargers helps with efficiency.

I hear ya! I just want to make sure I don’t mess anything up with my current setup.

I totally get where you're coming from! Quick chargers are known to shorten battery life, so I recommend sticking to regular chargers whenever possible. Slower charging seems to be the way to go for longevity!

Agreed! A slower charge seems to do wonders for battery life.

No worries about charging! You can charge any M18 battery with any M18 charger. Just keep in mind that it might take a bit longer with the standard charger, but it will still work just fine.
