I'm in Arizona and I've noticed that my computer/game room gets much warmer than the rest of the house, especially with summer approaching. I recently bought a portable AC unit since a window AC isn't an option due to my horizontal sliding window. To avoid having the AC unit clutter up the room, I'm considering using an extension cord. I picked up a 6ft 15amp 14 gauge extension cord; is this a good choice?

You're good on the electrical side, but make sure you're venting the exhaust properly. You’ll need to run the exhaust hose out the window, or use a setup that effectively vents hot air. My unit came with a kit for both horizontal and vertical windows, which really helped.
The 6ft extension cord should be fine since it's short and you won't really experience much voltage drop. Just make sure to check the power draw of your AC unit, but generally, for short distances like that, it should work without issues.

Just a heads up, you can actually use a window AC unit in a horizontal window by using a no-drill support bracket and filling any gaps with materials like acrylic or plywood. Yeah, I set it up to pull air in and exhaust it back outside. The kit works perfectly for my window.
