Can I Use an Oscillating Multi-Tool Instead of a Router for Weatherproofing My Door?

Hey everyone! I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to tools, so I hope this question isn't too silly. I own an old cape cod house from the 1950s, and I'm trying to weatherproof my front door. I came across a video that recommends using a router with a grooving attachment for this task. However, I don't have a router. I own a Dewalt oscillating multi-tool, and I'm wondering if that could work instead. If not, I guess I'll have to rent a router from a local store. I appreciate any advice you can share! Thanks!

Honestly, I'd recommend renting the router if it’s available. The key when installing weatherstripping is consistency, and using an oscillating tool might make it harder to keep that uniform groove you need.

Ok, I will do that! Thank you!
