Can I Use Citrus Solvent to Thin Tung Oil for a Hard Wax Balm?

I'm curious whether it's a good idea to thin Tung Oil with citrus solvent before using it to make a hard wax balm. Also, would this help reduce the curing time when doing touch-ups on cutting boards?

Absolutely! I regularly thin Tung Oil with citrus solvent, and it works great for blending with beeswax for a nice finish. Turpentine is another option, but the citrus solvent definitely has a much nicer scent!

Awesome! Thank you! Do you mix it 1:1? The Tung Oil and solvent? It's going on walnut and maple cutting boards.

Yeah, you can definitely thin Tung Oil with citrus solvent! Just be sure to check the product details to see what's in it. I really like using products from Real Milk Paint; they have a thinned product called Half & Half that can save you some work if you prefer not to DIY.
