Can I Use Double-Sided Tape to Attach a Mailbox to a Brick Wall?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to hang a mailbox on a brick wall without drilling into it. My wife really wants the mailbox mounted there, and I was thinking about using double-sided mounting tape for rough surfaces. Has anyone tried this or have any suggestions?

If your brick wall is exposed to rain and wind, double-sided tape might let you down after a while. A more durable option would be using something like Loctite 500 Landscape Adhesive, but be aware that moving the mailbox later could leave residue that's tough to clean off.

That 3M double-sided tape with the foam core is super strong and might work well for your mailbox. Just keep in mind that for a permanent setup, drilling into the mortar between the bricks is usually recommended so you don’t damage any bricks if you ever want to change the spot.

VHB tape is awesome, but remember, even the best tape has its limits. Make sure to put the mailbox up right!
