I'm trying to find out if I can effectively integrate grow light bulbs into my existing room lighting to help my houseplants thrive during the dark European winters. Specifically, I'm curious if white/full spectrum E27 grow light bulbs placed a distance away from the plants can still provide enough light to be helpful. Also, will these grow lights create decent ambient lighting, or will the quality be noticeably worse than typical soft white bulbs? If this idea won't work, I'm open to hearing any suggestions or if there's a good resource I might have missed. Thanks in advance for any insights!

It sounds like a solid idea, but placing the grow lights too far from your plants might not provide them with the light they need. Typically, for plants to thrive, the lights need to be quite bright, which could create an uncomfortable brightness for your living space. You might want to consider using pendant lamps or even floor lamps that can shine directly onto the plants instead. This way, you can keep your ceiling lights for ambiance while still giving your plants the light they require. Just a thought!
I think your idea could work, especially with the full spectrum lights! Just keep in mind that the distance and brightness are key. If your grow lights are far away, they might not be effective. The white/full spectrum grow bulbs can still provide decent lighting for the room, though the quality might be a bit cooler compared to softer white bulbs. You might want to experiment a bit to see what works best for your space!

Yeah, I agree! Maybe using supplemental lighting would be the way to go instead of switching out all your bulbs. Plus, you could pick some stylish fixtures that fit your decor.
