I recently picked up an 8amp fast charger while I was in the US, and while I was initially just going to stash it away, I remembered that many of the places I work have 110V transformers. I'm curious if I could just cut off the US plug and replace it with a commando socket to use it in the UK. Is that a viable option since it technically matches the voltage? Has anyone else done this?

Make sure to check the input specs on the charger itself. Most modern devices can handle 100-240V, meaning they only need a plug adapter to work abroad. But keep an eye out—some chargers, like Dewalt’s, might not have that range and could need more than just a plug swap.
110V is 110V no matter where you are, so you should be fine! I've used my US charger with a transformer, and it worked great without any issues.
I've been in the same boat; I used to live in Canada and now I'm in the UK. My 110V Roomba just sits next to a transformer, and it functions perfectly fine.
