I've just completed my off-grid setup with a 15.6 kWh system and a 42 kWh battery. It's performing great, having used only 14.5 mWh in the last year. My goal now is to eliminate my diesel generator usage. Given that I have a 12 kW Deye inverter and don't require fast charging for my vehicle, is it feasible to use my car battery as a backup for my home power needs?

You might want to look into bi-directional charging options, but not every EV supports it. I've seen some great setup guides from the Ioniq community on YouTube that could help—definitely worth checking out!
Well, the ability to use your car as a power source really depends on the specific make and model. Unfortunately, the vehicle-to-home (V2H) standard isn't fully established just yet, so you would likely be looking at some DIY wiring. It's important to know your car's capabilities before diving in, though!
I feel you! I’ve got a Peugeot 2008 electric too, so that does limit options.
Honestly, while it’s technically possible to use your car battery, I wouldn’t recommend it as a regular backup. Car batteries are expensive, and using them for home power could shorten their lifespan. If you’re looking for more stored energy during outages, it's better to expand your battery system at home instead, especially since you've got that 42 kWh already in place.
I get what you're saying! I just want to use the car occasionally when needed and phase out that diesel.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll do some research on that.
