Can I Use My Flexvolt Advantage Stuff with PowerStack and PowerPack?

I just picked up a DCS386 (Flexvolt Advantage) saw for an amazing deal of $10 as part of a combo that included a charger and batteries. I noticed it's pretty similar to the DCS384 model. I've also got a PowerPack that's 8Ah from my DCD1007. Do you think I should stick with my current setup, or would it be better to switch to a Flexvolt battery or even consider returning the DCS386 for the DCS384? I only really see that the DCS386 has vibration control as a difference.

I own the DCS386 but haven’t tried it with the PowerStack 5.0 just yet. However, I did test it with the DCS573 and it definitely had better power compared to a regular 5.0XR battery. And seriously, a saw, charger, and batteries for just $10? That’s a steal; don’t give that up!

Just to clarify, I didn't literally pay $10. I got 2 XR 5Ah batteries and a 4Amp charger, then they let me choose a tool. Still, I'm curious if the DCS384 would outperform the 386 when using the PowerStack.

You can definitely use the PowerPack and PowerStack, especially if your PowerStack is the 5Ah version and not the smaller one. Just keep in mind that your saw won’t perform at full 60V power with a 20V battery. The main difference you'll notice is the running time. You might get decent performance with the setup you have!

That's debatable. People say Flexvolt Advantage is just a marketing term. The 8Ah PowerPack seems to give pretty similar performance to a 9Ah Flexvolt.

Yeah, I saw a DCD999 using a PowerStack 5Ah and it seemed to run just as well as with a 9Ah Flexvolt, so you should be good! I haven’t really seen a direct comparison with the reciprocating saws, though.
