Hey folks! I'm helping out some neighbors clear out trees and bushes from an empty lot, and I'm using my new M18 Hatchet tool for the job. It came with a 6.0 battery and charger, which is great. I'm also able to use an M18 XC 3.0 battery I have on hand. Will this 3.0 battery work with the Hatchet? I'm wondering if it will run out of juice quickly and if it might underperform compared to the 6.0. Just a heads-up, I'm not super handy, so I'd appreciate any tips without making me feel out of my depth! Thanks!

Using a 3.0 battery is okay for small tasks, but I wouldn't recommend pushing it hard. When I've used lower amp batteries, like a 5.0, it does tend to slow down a bit on tougher cuts. The 6.0 is a better match for consistent performance. For light work, you'll manage, but significant cutting might be a struggle!
It'll definitely run, but expect shorter usage time. While it might have slightly less power than the 6.0, it shouldn’t be a huge issue unless you're cutting really dense stuff. If you've got limited batteries, try to keep them on a rotation – like using the 3.0 while the 6.0 recharges. Just make do with what you've got and enjoy your project! Happy cutting!
