I'm considering planting some seeds I have left over from 2022 and 2023, specifically dwarf beans and sweetcorn. They've been stored indoors in a dry place, and I'm wondering if they'll still grow okay. Is it really worth it to buy new seeds every year? Any advice on this? Thanks!

From my experience, old seeds can still work just fine! I had some old seeds from last year, and they sprouted without a hitch. Just remember to check their germination rate first—try chitting a few in a damp paper towel in a warm spot. You wouldn’t want to waste time and effort planting only to find out they won’t germinate!
I think you'll be okay! As long as they’ve been stored properly, seeds can last longer than you’d think. I’ve heard of seeds being kept for years in places like the Svalbard Global Seed Vault! If anything, it’s better to try rather than waste them. Plus, many commercially sold seeds might already be a bit old anyway. Just maybe sow a bit thicker, just in case!
That's a good tip! It's always better to know before you plant a whole bunch.
