I'm wondering if it's okay to use my orchid mix for my aloe vera and Mexican mint plants. I'm planning to make some adjustments by adding a bit of soil, coco coir, or compost to ensure they retain moisture while still allowing for good drainage. Will this work?

If your orchid mix has more soil than bark, I’d suggest adding pumice or sand to help with drainage for succulents. If it’s more barky, it might not be the best fit. As for Mexican mint, if it’s similar to regular mint, any soil mix should probably work fine!
I would steer clear of using coir or compost for your aloe since it tends to hold onto too much moisture, which they don't do well with. For Mexican mint, I'm not too sure, but I'd guess any standard potting mix should do the trick.
Thanks for the heads-up!

But why would you completely avoid the barky orchid mix for succulents? I've seen plenty of people successfully use it without issues!
