Can I Use Peel and Stick Wallpaper on a Primed Concrete Basement Wall?

I'm working on my basement, which has a concrete wall that's been primed white. The surface is a bit bumpy and imperfect, but there are no serious issues like holes or crumbling. I'm curious if anyone has experience putting peel and stick wallpaper on a wall like this? Will it stick well, or should I rethink this idea?

I’d be cautious with that! If the wall has any uneven parts, the wallpaper will follow those bumps and it won’t look great. Plus, if there's any condensation at all, that's just asking for trouble. Maybe consider using insulation foam board to create a smoother surface before applying the wallpaper?

Peel and stick wallpaper tends to need a smooth surface to really stick well. Since your wall is bumpy, it might not adhere properly and could end up peeling off, especially if there's any moisture. My suggestion would be to test a small section first to see how it holds up before going all-in.

I’ve heard mixed things about this. While it's possible it could stick for some time, it might not last long on a rough surface. Just a tip: peel-and-stick wallpaper acts like fancy contact paper, so without a flat area, you might need some extra adhesive, which defeats the point. I'd definitely advise giving it a test run first!
