Can I Use Rice Water to Water My Potted Plants?

I'm trying to save water and I've heard that using leftover starchy water from rinsing rice can be beneficial for plants. I'd love to know if it's safe and effective to water my potted plants with this rice water. Does anyone have experiences or thoughts on this?

I think it's fine to use rice water occasionally, but don't overdo it. Adding too much starch can lead to mold problems and attract unwanted bacteria. Just a little should be okay!

I've heard that rice water can encourage moss growth in damp areas, so if you’re aiming for that look, it might be a plus! Just keep an eye on moisture levels so you don’t have any mold issues.

Using leftover rice water for your plants is actually pretty common! My mom used to do it, and she said it really helps. Just be a little cautious, as too much starch can lead to mold or pests. I suggest starting with one plant to see how it goes, or maybe mix it with regular water to dilute it a bit. Recycling water is great when it works, though!
