Hey everyone! I'm planning to use a self-leveling floor product called Hardrox 300 as the final surface in my kitchen and living room. We're in Cyprus, and this space will be both indoor and covered outdoor. My main concern is whether this material can handle wear and tear. I'm thinking of painting it with epoxy paint but I'm unsure about its durability. What kind of damage should I be worried about, like scratches from foot traffic or heavy items being dropped on it? Any insights would be appreciated!

The Hardrox 300 specifies a max thickness of 30mm, but keep in mind that the pot life is just 30 minutes. You’ll need to work fast to cover everything in that time frame, and mixing can be a challenge too—especially since you'll be handling quite a few bags of this heavy stuff. Make sure your sub-floor is solid enough to take that weight!
Watch out for the compatibility with epoxy paints. I’ve heard some self-leveling compounds can pull fibers up through the epoxy if they’re not compatible. It’s always good to double-check the product specifics before diving in!
Using self-leveling floors for a final surface can be tricky. You’ll want to apply a thick enough layer; otherwise, it might chip easily. Also, to achieve a smooth finish, grinding might be necessary afterward.
