I'm a bit worried about using T-nuts on my ¾ inch MDF since I'm concerned about cracking it or whether the T-nuts will properly sink in because MDF can be pretty hard. Does anyone have experience with this? What are some good alternatives that might work better?

For sure, you can use T-nuts, but be cautious since MDF is more prone to cracking. I suggest being precise and maybe drilling pilot holes first. I’ve found that using coarse-thread machine screws works just as well, and if any holes get worn out, using toothpicks and glue is an easy fix! T-nuts aren't such a must-have in speaker building, in my opinion.
Using T-nuts on MDF is fine! I’ve used them on my CNC setups. Just keep in mind how you’re using them—precision is key, especially since MDF can crumble more easily than plywood. If you're careful with your drill holes, you should be good!
Yeah, you can definitely use T-nuts on MDF! I usually go for threaded inserts like the E-ZLok since they sit nice and flush. For speaker projects, a lot of folks use hurricane nuts or binding barrels. They've worked great for me in the past!

Awesome! I’m building some large subs, so that’s good to know. Thanks for the tips!
