I'm planning to build a kitchen worktop using wide oak planks, which are about 25cm (10 inches) wide. I've heard that it's usually better to use narrower planks to avoid problems like warping and wood movement. Is it feasible to use these wider planks without running into warping issues?

If the wood's dried properly and your home doesn't have drastic humidity changes, it should be okay. Just make sure to allow for a little movement when you’re gluing it down, and you should be fine!
You might be able to make it work! If you cut the wide planks down a bit and glue them together, that could help manage any movement. But if aesthetics are really important to you, keeping the planks wide might be worth the risk. Just keep an eye on how well they're finished and mounted!
Yeah, I get it. Some folks really do prefer the look of wider planks, and if they’re well cared for, they can be stunning.

That's what I'm thinking! Since it's already dry, I might just go for it and see how it holds up.
