I had some unfortunate luck when landscapers weed whacked my tomato plants. I'm considering gathering the green tomatoes and bringing them inside to ripen, but I'm unsure if it's worth trying to salvage the damaged plants themselves or if I should just cut my losses. Some of the plants are completely shredded, but a few still have their main stem intact. I was really looking forward to those tomatoes, and although they were all green, they seemed to be on the verge of ripening. I'm really disappointed and just want to save whatever I can!

That’s such a bummer! You could definitely gather all the green tomatoes. They might not taste as good as ripe ones, but you can fry them or make pickles, so it’s not a total loss. I always worry about landscapers after hearing similar stories, so I use caution tape to mark my garden. Maybe that’ll help next time!

I hear you! I’ve never tried fried green tomatoes either, but this seems like a perfect chance to experiment!
