My grandfather, born in 1889, was a carpenter before becoming a minister. He left behind some tools, including a wood plane, but I'm unsure about its restoration potential and what parts might be missing. Any insights on what type of plane it is and if it can be restored?

Before you decide, make sure you have the iron assembly and lever cap. If not, it's going to be a hassle finding those parts. But if you do, it’s definitely worth attempting to restore!
Definitely possible to restore! But honestly, I'd prefer to frame it and hang it up in my shop rather than try to make it usable again. Sometimes the sentimental value outweighs the practicality.
