Can My Termite Guy Take Back the Bait Traps Since I'm Not Renewing?

I recently found out my termite control guy wants to take back the bait traps he installed because I decided not to renew my service with him. I don't have any termite issues right now, and I figured I could just refill the traps myself cheaper. He charged me $1,000 to install them, so I'm wondering if he has the right to take them back or if they should be mine since I paid for the installation. Any thoughts on this? Also, I found my contract and it looks like the traps are his property, which complicates things further.

It sounds like you might have been leasing the traps instead of actually buying them. If he charged you a service fee for installation, those traps are probably his property, which would mean he can take them back if you don’t renew the service.
