I've heard that placing a pothos cutting in water along with another plant can help that plant root more quickly. Is that true? I'm currently trying to root a snake plant and considering cutting a couple of nodes from my golden pothos to see if it would speed things up. Are there specific types of pothos that work best for this? Does it matter if I use freshly cut pothos or one that already has some decent roots? Also, I've linked a previous discussion on this topic if anyone wants to check it out for more insights.

Honestly, it might not make a huge difference, but it can't hurt to try. Just make sure you have a cutting with a node. Instead of cutting your pothos, consider using an air stone or some rooting hormone in the water to really boost the root growth — that might be more effective!
I've always put pothos clippings in with my other cuttings, and I've seen them grow faster. For instance, I struggled for weeks with my PPP not rooting, but just two weeks after adding a golden pothos cutting, I finally got some roots! I can't really tell a difference between the types of pothos I use though; I've got golden, snow queen, and n'joy that work just fine.
Yes, I found it really helps! I was trying to root snake plant leaves for a month with no luck, but once I added a rooted pothos cutting, I finally started seeing new roots. It definitely sped things up!
That's interesting! I've heard similar things, but mostly about aloe. This is a new one for me!

I agree, an air stone seems like a solid idea and can really oxygenate the water!
