I'm a novice gardener with limited space, so I can't have a compost bin at home. I'm looking to stay peat-free, but I'm finding that many of the options out there are filled with sticks and stones unless you spend a lot. Is there any way around this? I typically use John Innes compost but would love some advice from more experienced gardeners. Additionally, I mainly grow vegetables and summer crops in long planters. Can I use those planters for composting over the winter? Sorry for throwing so many questions at you!

I've tried a lot of compost brands myself, and while they often contain bits of twigs and stones, it's usually fine for growing vegetables. For starting seeds, I've used seed compost or coir with great results! Just make sure to mix it properly.
