I'm new to caring for succulents and I have a quick question! My succulent soil is very dry right now, and I'm planning to water it. However, I'm curious if it's possible to overwater a succulent even if I only give it too much water just once. I'm thinking about bottom watering my plants first and then adding more water on top to ensure the soil is thoroughly soaked. Any advice on this would be awesome! Thanks!

Overwatering isn't really just about how much water you use, but more about how long the soil stays wet. There are a bunch of factors that can cause this, like watering too often, having a pot that's too big, or not enough drainage. As for bottom watering, you can let your succulent soak for a while, and it should be fine as long as the soil dries out quickly afterwards. So yeah, if your plant looks thirsty and you bottom water it followed by a bit more on top, it should be okay as long as nothing else is causing too much moisture retention.
Great tip! Just remember, "bottom watering" means to really submerge the pot up to the level of the soil until the soil looks wet. It can take just a few moments or longer, depending on how dry it is.
To do bottom watering right, make sure the top of the soil gets wet afterward. That’s a good indicator that you've done it properly!
