Carving Jenga Blocks for a Chess Set: Any Tips?

Hey everyone! I'm planning a fun project during reading week to carve a chess set, but I've only got some old Jenga blocks to work with. I'm curious about how tough it might be to carve through these using just a regular pocket knife or maybe a fishing knife. Has anyone tried this before? Any tips or advice would be super helpful!

I don’t have any hands-on experience with carving Jenga blocks, but I think it's a really cool idea! Just make sure your knife is really sharp, or the process might get frustrating. Also, carving knives are designed for this, so if you have one, it could make your life easier!

Based on what I found, Jenga blocks are usually made from alder wood, which is known to carve pretty easily. So, it shouldn't be too difficult if you're using the right tools. I say go for it and let your creativity flow!

Those Jenga blocks are made from hardwood and are pretty sturdy, so you might find it a bit challenging if your knife isn't sharp. I recommend looking for a good quality carving knife if you have one; it definitely makes a big difference. Just be prepared, it can be a bit of a chore!
