Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for a new router and could use your insights. I'm particularly looking for a hybrid router that has both a trim/fixed base and a plunge base. I've heard a lot of good things about DeWalt, and I'm considering two models: the DeWalt D26204K-QS (corded) and the DeWalt DCW604NT-XJ (cordless). They seem to have similar specs, but the corded one is more reliable, while the cordless is more convenient but requires buying batteries. I plan to use it in my shop where there's no issue using a corded model. I'm curious about how the power compares between these two and if the cord will be too much of a hassle when using the corded version. If you have any advice or additional factors I should consider, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

I hear you on the cord issue. It can get in the way, but you kind of adapt over time. That said, if you’re ever thinking about mounting it on a table, a corded option is usually the better choice. Just my two cents!
I'd definitely go with the corded model. It’s more powerful and reliable, plus it usually costs less in the long run. You won't regret the extra power, especially if you plan to use it in a shop setting where a plug isn't an issue.
Honestly, I'd recommend looking into other brands too, like the Bosch 1617EVS. It comes as a kit with the plunge base, and it’s super user-friendly, particularly when set up under a router table. You can really make fine adjustments without a hassle! But if you’re set on DeWalt, the corded one is usually the way to go.
