I'm trying to get my family's tools organized because they're all over the place right now. I'm not sure whether to focus on getting rolling cabinets, toolboxes, or a mix of both. How many of each would you recommend starting with? Also, any tips on how to decide whether to prioritize buying more rolling cabinets or toolboxes? Thanks for any help!

I've actually repurposed some old dressers for my tools. They work great for organizing everything without breaking the bank! Just keep in mind the size of your space when choosing your storage—sometimes unconventional solutions can be the best!
It really depends on your workspace setup. If you have a larger area, those big mechanics' cabinets work well. But if you're short on space, think about shelves or pegboards. I often use a tool bag for quick jobs and find that a bucket filled with tools is handy for specific tasks. Just load it up and take it where you need!
I started with a 56” US General roller cabinet from Harbor Freight and have really liked it. I even added some top drawers and a side locker to expand my storage. If you're not a pro using it every day, this setup is great for DIYers and hobbyists. The quality is solid for what I need, and it rolls well even when full!
Totally agree! For a casual user, that US General cabinet offers great value. It's well-made and surprisingly easy to move around, even when loaded up.
