Choosing My First Cordless Circular Saw and Tool Kit – Help!

Hey everyone! I'm a first-time buyer and honestly feeling pretty overwhelmed with all the options for cordless circular saws. I'm specifically looking for one for home use, and I've considered getting a tool kit since I don't have any batteries or a charging station yet. From my search, I noticed that many kits also include other tools, and I'm open to getting a drill or an impact driver too. My main issue is figuring out how to navigate all these choices since there are just so many different drills and saws out there, each with varying prices. Also, I found it tricky because the Dewalt website doesn't list prices, which makes it hard to compare with options at Home Depot or Lowe's. Can anyone share their recommendations or tips on what to look for? I'm mostly confused about the differences between the saws aside from the diameter and battery size.

Hey! I recently saw that Lowe's has a solid XR kit that covers most of what you'd need for around $599. If you're just starting out, I'd recommend looking into Ryobi too; their tools are pretty reliable for household projects and often cheaper than Dewalt and Milwaukee. I've had tools from all three brands and only upgraded because I found some great deals. Just do your research on what you need, and remember that you can always upgrade later!

Totally agree! I've seen lots of kits with rolling storage for about $500-600 that include a circular saw, drill, and impact – great value overall, and usually come with a decent battery. If I were starting fresh, I’d probably stick with Ryobi or even Hercules because of the price. But Dewalt tools are hard to beat in terms of quality and battery ecosystem.
