I'm trying to figure out which DeWalt miter saw would be the best fit for me. I want the latest, most powerful cordless sliding double bevel miter saw available from DeWalt. I've been checking out the DCS785, DCS781, and DHS790 models, but I'm not sure which one to go with. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I did some digging when I was looking at these saws. The DCS781 has the Flex-Volt technology, which gives it more power. Just to give you a heads up, here are some details:

- **DCS781 (60V MAX)**: Runs on a single battery.
- It can make 675 cuts in 3-¼” MDF and 255 cuts in 4x4 pressure-treated lumber.
- It uses one battery at a time, which means runtime is limited.

- **DHS790 (120V MAX Hybrid)**: Runs on two batteries.
- It can do around 289 cuts in 3-¼” MDF and 302 cuts in 2x4 SPF lumber.
- The downside is it drains two batteries at once.

The DCS785 has some nice features, like wireless tool control to connect to dust extractors, but the DCS781 is really powerful. Just consider what your power needs might be!

The DCS785 is the newest option and includes Wireless Tool Control, which allows it to pair with dust extractors effortlessly. However, the older DCS781 has the edge in power and efficiency, although it might be a bit pricier due to needing bigger 60V batteries. As for the DHS790, it's kind of hard to find now since it's older and not as efficient. It needs two batteries and used to have some issues with overheating when plugged into AC.

But ultimately, you might want to clarify your specific needs since we don't have much info about how you plan to use the saw!

I think the DCS785 would work out well since I'm just starting my tool collection, and budget isn't a huge issue. I'm aiming to do some basic carpentry for personal projects, like building storage and a chicken coop. It seems like it would handle what I need pretty nicely, plus I like all the efficiency features.
