I'm really torn about which nail gun to get for my first purchase. I've been eyeing the 20v pin nailer, but I'm realizing that a brad nailer might also be necessary for me. While I've heard mixed reviews about the pin nailer, many say that Dewalt's electric brad nailers aren't that great. This has me thinking about switching gears to pneumatic nailers. If I'm not reliant on a battery, should I even stick with Dewalt? I'm aiming for a balance of cost, reliability, and convenience, so any advice on brands and types would be super helpful!

Lowe's has a great deal right now on a Metabo HPT 18-gauge pneumatic straight brad nailer for just $39! It’s a solid option, especially for beginners. Just make sure to check that the sale is still on if you're interested.
Honestly, you might find more unbiased opinions here about nailers! I've been using a Metabo 18G narrow crown stapler, and it's been fantastic after a bit of getting used to. While cordless nailers are heavier, you won't have to worry about hose length or compressor issues with them. If cost is your primary concern, pneumatic options are definitely the way to go.

I actually just snagged a Metabo 15 ga finish nailer! I was tempted by a DeWalt or Milwaukee, but when I found it on sale for $150 (dusty floor model included), I couldn't pass it up. As for the DeWalt 18ga brad nailer, no issues on my end either. It gets the job done, although the design can feel odd. I'd suggest sticking to one battery brand if you're in it for the long haul!
