I'm planning an off-grid solar system and trying to maximize energy production on my patio covers, which will be shaded at times during the day. I know I need to use power optimizers for those shaded areas, but I'm overwhelmed by the choices for solar panels. I'm looking at Signature Solar's options, and there are so many variations in size and specifications. Should I prioritize certain brands? Should I go for the lowest price per watt? I'm also a bit confused because efficiency isn't always listed, and I don't want to spend a ton of time calculating energy density among all the panels available.

I'd recommend considering bifacial panels, even if you think the back might not get much sun. They are really tough, and I've had great luck with the 430-watt Philadelphia Solar panels and 390-watt Hyperion panels. Trust me, Signature Solar offers solid products. And just a heads up, the efficiency details are actually available if you check the data sheets for each panel on their site!

I looked around and ended up going with a bifacial 540W panel from Signature Solar. They have a handy configurator for mounting options that I've found super helpful. It's all about maximizing that light intake!
